Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams, each typically consisting of nine players. The game is played on a diamond-shaped field with four bases arranged in a square. One team takes the role of the offense, attempting to score runs by hitting a ball thrown by the opposing team’s pitcher and running around the bases, while the other team plays defense, trying to get players out through various means, such as catching batted balls, tagging runners, or throwing the ball to bases ahead of runners.

A standard baseball game consists of nine innings, during which each team has a turn to bat and a turn to field. The objective is to score more runs than the opposing team by completing circuits around the bases. The game is characterized by its unique rules, terminology, and practices, making it a significant part of American culture and often referred to as “America’s pastime.” Baseball has evolved into various forms, including Major League Baseball (MLB), minor leagues, and amateur levels, and is played in many countries around the world.
